St. Joseph Welcomes Fr Dan Duling

Thank you!!! I have been overwhelmed by the welcoming I have received from all three parishes, thank you for everyone who has stopped by, for the food, to the ladies who cleaned the rectory and for all those who have helped in ways I did not know. I look forward to getting to know you all. Please know I am not the best with names, so please be patient with me as I really do want to get to know you all. Do not be afraid to introduce yourself to me multiple times. God Bless! — Fr. Dan

The Twelfth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Someone recently asked, “If you were put on trial for being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you?” This question causes us to reflect on our behaviors, and to consider how many of those behaviors would be considered Christian. In today’s readings, there is a theme of sin and its dark effects. The gospel reminds us that, “Nothing is concealed that will not be revealed, nor secret that will not be known.” It sounds like Jesus is telling us not to behave in a manner that we would not want revealed. Instead, behave in a way that would certainly find us guilty of being a Christian! We should proclaim our faith in Jesus, share His teachings with those we encounter, and not be afraid to stand up for our belief. We can find consolation in the words of the prophet, Jeremiah: “But the LORD is with me, like a mighty champion: my persecutors will stumble, they will not triumph.” Do not be afraid to dedicate your life to the glorification of the Lord!
